GOLD FUGU FISH FINS

Mathilde de l'Ecotais designs complete universes from a photograph. Here, using a Fugu fin, she plays with the ceiling height and creates a skylight that brightens the space and naturally illuminates the photograph.

Installed on a movable partition, this fin points towards the chef like a knife. An emblematic image from this Japanese series, it has also been used as décor for a television programme, in a bathroom and as furniture. At the Mondrian, in the lobby of the legendary hotel on the Croisette in Cannes, reworked in azure blues, it evokes the sea and the breath of the open water...
